ABOUT ATHENA
After a long career in rhythmic gymnastics, Athena retired her ribbon and clubs and set her sights on a new sport. She was just 21 when she began training as a bodybuilder. Already a driven competitor, she placed 2nd at her first show, the 1993 Gold's Classic.   She then went on to compete in the BC Championships where she again took 2nd. The next two years saw her compete in two more shows before she decided to retire in 1995.

It was only twelve years later, at the age of 36, that Athena decided to give bodybuilding one more go. Dedicated and determined, she returned to the gym with a won't-give-up tenacity that turned heads. Her first show back, the 2007 Northern Classic, was the first of two wins before she took to the stage of the Canadian Bodybuilding Championships in Montreal last year. Her first attempt at the national level, Athena won the best overall heavyweight category to score her Pro card. We can't wait for her professional career.
